Humble myself.

Fri Apr 08 2005 at 12:18pm

It isn't about me. My life, my entire existence is about Him. I struggle with many things. Sometimes I really push for things that I feel strongly about or desire to see happen when it isn't time for them to occur. Sometimes I feel selfish, jealous & wrongfully competitive. But God will humble & I will "humble myself in the sight of the Lord." For its at that moment when I believe I am great, when I believe that I am good or better at something than someone else, I'm not. And even IF I were, that should not be my focus, and it matters none. God reminds me. "Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord (Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord)! Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord (Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord)! And HE will lift you up higher & higher And HE will lift you up!" Because I've become so enthralled with music & the worship of God through it, I'm at the point (& probably have been for some time) to where I would only speak in songs. There's a song for every situation. For after all scripture does instruct us to "speak to one another with hymns, speak to one another in spiritual songs, to sing and make melody in our hearts to the LORD." There's a line from a song I sang at the Csehy Summer School of Music (a Christian Summer Music Camp): "O blessed am I that I may sing my devotion, O blessed am I that I may sing." Finally I want to add the main chorus from a song by Rita Baloche: "Humble yourselves before the Lord. Humble yourself before the Lord. And He will lift you up. And He will lift you up. And He will lift you up."
